About Us

The Balamand Educational Foundation was established in 1995 for the purpose of advancing the goals of like-minded institutions, to support and empower the next generation of young professionals, and to promote higher education in Lebanon and the region.
The Foundation is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization that is tax exempt, and to which all contributions are tax-deductible.

Our Mission

We are committed to creating a more hopeful version of the Middle East for our future generation by helping provide opportunity to all, independent of socio-economic background, and despite financial constraints. Our goal is to raise the necessary funds that make it possible for every student to go to college, regardless of financial status.

On June 1st of 2016, the Board of Directors launched a new effort to support its fundraising campaign, and appointed the Foundation's first-ever Executive Director to address the urgent need to fulfill the Foundation's mission.

“Thank you Balamand Educational Foundation for helping me pursue my dreams. It has truly been a blessing. Your help relieved me from the constant pressure of high tuition cost that my family and I simply could not afford. You gave me the time and the peace of mind I needed to focus on my studies. Thanks to your support I am one step closer to my goals. In the future, I look forward to being part of your beautiful organization, so I can help ease the path of many more students just like me.”

As a non-profit private institution, the University of Balamand depends on gifts and donations to maintain its standards of excellence and expand its services. In the past, our Foundation has provided financial aid for deserving students based on need and merit, in addition to supporting faculty training, library resources, curriculum enrichment, and medical student training in the United States.
